When I read your blog about the fire, it brought to mind the really important things I would lose, should a fire get close to my house. I live at the beach so not much chance; however, it reminded me to dispose of the disposable and keep handy the important. I was also reminded to live in gratitude...one never knows, does one?

Best wishes on your trip.

By the way when is the next trip to Africa scheduled?

Hugs,
RuthRuthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03103997892412167320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7364444313031366135.post-13647909940711951492010-08-25T14:11:40.058-07:002010-08-25T14:11:40.058-07:00Kim, I heard about wildfires in your area this mor...Kim, I heard about wildfires in your area this morning on the radio and wondered how you guys were fairing. Glad to know you are okay. How is the poison oak coming along. John is almost healed with his small outbreak. Right behind the AM/PM gas station!

Last year, there was a fire closer to us than the one yesterday. More wind, too, in our direction. I called Ron home. We loaded (literally THREW!) all of my paintings and the two computers into the art trailer, hitched up, and waited. Luckily, we didn't have to hightail it.

You find out quickly what stuff is worth what!Mitzi Miles-Kubotahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08903445266454027808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7364444313031366135.post-91034884054876112242010-08-25T13:18:53.871-07:002010-08-25T13:18:53.871-07:00So glad you didn't have to evacuate! I worry when it rains a lot and always have a "higher ground" plan in my head. You're right about security being fleeting.Zoe Nelsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04620760594715623339noreply@blogger.com
